Faxie Slack App Permissions

Faxie requests access to basic workspace information in order to send Faxies through Slack. Faxie requests only the Slack permissions needed to create, share, and manage Faxies. We never access your messages. We never share or sell any data to third parties.

View information about your identity	Used by the Faxie web dashboard so you can sign in with your Slack account instead of a separate password.
View your email address	Lets the Faxie dashboard associate your Slack sign-in with your billing account.
View your Slack avatar and Slack workspace's basic information	Displays your Slack profile picture and workspace name in the Faxie dashboard.
Content and info about channels & conversations
View basic information about public channels in your workspace	When you @-mention a colleague in a Faxie, we check that they're actually in the same channel before generating the video with them.
View basic information about private channels that Faxie has been added to	When you @-mention a colleague in a Faxie, we check that they're actually in the private channel before generating the video with them.
View basic information about group direct messages that Faxie has been added to	When you @-mention a colleague in a group DM, we verify they're in that conversation before including them in the video.
View messages and other content in direct messages that Faxie has been added to	This is how Faxie receives the selfie and audio clip you send in your setup DM. Without it, your files never reach us.
View files shared in channels and conversations that Faxie has been added to	When you DM Faxie your selfie photo or voice clip, we download that file to use as the input for your video.
Content and info about your workspace
View people in your workspace	We periodically check which accounts are still active. When someone leaves your workspace, we delete their biometric data (selfie and voice) automatically.
View email addresses of people in your workspace	We record the installing admin's email so we can send billing and account notifications to the right person.
Perform actions in channels & conversations
Send messages as @faxie	Faxie sends you DMs throughout setup, posts "generating…" status updates, delivers your finished video, and sends action buttons (Share · Edit · Extend).
Join public channels in your workspace	When you tap "Share to channel," Faxie needs to join that channel first so it can upload the video there. It only joins channels you explicitly share to.
Start direct messages with people	Faxie opens a 1-on-1 DM with you the first time you use it, and with your workspace admin for billing notifications.
Upload, edit, and delete files as Faxie	This is how Faxie delivers your finished video — it uploads the mp4 directly into your Faxie DM (and into a channel when you Share).
Perform actions in your workspace
Add shortcuts and/or slash commands that people can use	Registers the `/faxie` command (and `/faxie-retake-selfie`, `/faxie-rerecord-audio`) so you can trigger Faxie from any channel.
